North Carolina Pro Bono Resource Center
The North Carolina Pro Bono Resource Center, a program of the Equal Access to Justice Commission, harnesses the power of volunteer legal professionals to target unmet legal needs by promoting, supporting, and developing pro bono opportunities. We facilitate Pro Bono Go postings from legal services providers.
Our Restorative Justice Project focuses on utilizing pro bono attorneys to assist clients with certain types of expunctions and restoring driver’s licenses due to unpaid fees and fines.
Pro Bono Reporting
Every year from January 1 through March 31, the Pro Bono Resource Center conducts voluntary pro bono reporting. Make sure you keep track of your pro bono hours!
Pro Bono Practice Status
Pro bono Practice Status allows inactive and out-of-state lawyers to serve their community by providing pro bono legal assistance to indigent clients through a nonprofit legal services organization.
Pro Bono Coordinators’ Network
The NC Pro Bono Coordinators’ Network is a collaborative of private firms, corporations, law schools, nonprofit organizations, and legal services providers, that address unmet legal needs in NC by engaging legal professionals to provide pro bono legal services and thereby increasing access to justice. The Pro Bono Resource Center hosts the Network.

Pisgah Legal Services
Mountain Area Volunteer Lawyer Program
Pisgah Legal Services has an array of pro bono opportunities for attorneys licensed in NC. We provide training and mentoring, as well as malpractice coverage, for pro bono work.

Emeritus Attorneys Giving Legal Expertise (EAGLE) Program
We work with retired attorneys and attorneys licensed in other states to secure pro bono practice status through the NC Bar, which allows them to do pro bono legal work with Pisgah Legal Services.
