Currently, there are 31 FEMA disaster-declared counties in North Carolina as a result of Hurricanes Florence and Michael. Through the Disaster Legal Services Hotline (1-833-242-3549) over 150 clients already have been paired with an attorney volunteer for disaster-related legal assistance. The vast majority of Hotline callers have questions and legal needs related to housing issues -- landlord/tenant questions, repairs, and initial FEMA or insurance claims.
